9 Pharmacies Helping Seniors Save on Prescriptions

October 31st, 2020

If you take prescription medication in America, it can mean paying hundreds or thousands of dollars per year to stay on top of those prescriptions. And unfortunately, this simply isn’t sustainable for most people. However, there are ways to get discounted prescriptions.

We’ve curated this list so you know how to get the prescriptions you need at an affordable price. If you know of any discounts missing from this list, please let us know by submitting a comment.

While we do our best to verify each of these discounts, some may vary by location. Always be sure to ask about discounts before you get your prescriptions filled to avoid financial surprises.

How to get discounts:

AARP: Use the AARP Prescription Discount Card (through OptumRx) to save an average of 61% on FDA-approved generic, brand name, or specialty drugs your current plan doesn’t cover. (Must be an AARP member to qualify.)

CVS Pharmacy: Receive “ExtraBucks” Rewards when you sign up for the CVS ExtraCare program. Includes personalized coupons, up to 2% back from everyday purchases, and $5 ExtraBucks Rewards when you fill 10 prescriptions.
